The name Kampung Warna Warni comes from the colorful village vibe, where the walls of local houses are painted in bright, eye-catching colors. Just across from Kampung Warna Warni, you’ll find Kampung Tridi. This area is known for its amazing 3D photo spots that are both artistic and fun. The History of Kampung Warna Warni Jodipan

Kampung Warna Warni Jodipan used to be a run-down neighborhood. A group of students from Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang first wanted to stop people from throwing trash into the river. But they soon had a bigger idea: painting the houses  to make the area look bright and welcoming.

 

They brought in artists to create colorful murals on the walls, and the local community pitched in too. People helped with painting, and others provided food and supplies.

The addition of a glass bridge has really boosted the appeal of Kampung Warna Warni Jodipan, attracting even more visitors. Designed by civil engineering students from Universitas Negeri Malang, who won a national building competition the glass bridge is often compared to the one in Zhangjiajie, China.

 

Officially opened on October 9, 2017, by the Mayor of Malang and the Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang, the bridge quickly became popular. Within just one day, over 60 posts from visitors appeared online, showing off their photos on the glass bridge. To ensure everyone has a chance to enjoy it, there’s a limit of 50 people allowed on the bridge at a time.

Besides the impressive glass bridge, there are other fantastic photo spots to explore. You can capture vibrant street art on colorful walls, stroll through an umbrella alley with colorful umbrellas hanging overhead, and enjoy 3D murals in Kampung Tridi. Each spot adds to the unique charm of this vibrant area—perfect for snapping some memorable photos!

Facilities and Tickets in Colorful Village

In addition to the glass bridge and Kampung Tridi, Kampung Warna Warni offers several convenient facilities, including parking for motorcycles and cars, food stalls, and restrooms.

 

To enter Kampung Warna Warni, you’ll need to buy a ticket for IDR 3,000 per person. The ticket is a sticker that you can keep as a souvenir. Parking fees are IDR 2,000 for motorcycles, IDR 5,000 for cars, and around IDR 15,000 for tour buses.

If you’re traveling by train, the site is about 3 km from Malang City Station (ML). You can take public transport, use a motorcycle taxi, or rent a car in Malang. For visitors coming from outside the city, like Surabaya, you can make things easier by using our travel service from Surabaya to Malang.
