Even though Taman Wisata Wendit is quite old, it still draws plenty of visitors. It was once called Pemandian Wendit before its name changed. If you’ve enjoyed your time in Malang and are heading back to Surabaya, getting there is now easy and comfortable with Malang-Surabaya Travel services.
The History of Taman Wisata Wendit
Taman Wisata Wendit has a fascinating history. It was once a ritual site for the concubines and kings of the Majapahit Empire. Located in Mangliawan Village, Pakis District, Malang, East Java, Indonesia, the park has a special pool that locals believe was used by the concubines. They thought the water could keep them youthful.

When you enter Taman Wisata Wendit, you’ll see a striking Hanoman statue at the entrance. This statue, which features a long-tailed monkey holding a mace, represents the area's local wildlife and seems to greet visitors with a warm welcome.
The park’s lush trees and natural setting create a refreshing atmosphere, and you might even spot some long-tailed monkeys hanging out in the trees.

The long-tailed monkeys at Taman Wisata Wendit love to eat leaves and the various fruits found around the park. There are also stalls where you can buy peanuts and corn if you want to feed the monkeys.

In the park, you’ll also find a Hindu relief and a sacred spring called Sendang Widodaren. This spring is often used for religious rituals and was supposedly a meditation spot for Raden Wijaya, the founder of the Majapahit Kingdom.

The water in the pools at Taman Wisata Wendit is believed to come from Mount Bromo, Mount Semeru, Mount Kawi, and Mount Arjuno. People think the park is where these mountain waters meet, making the springs here sacred and blessed.
